Health & Social Care Services
Specialist and unique Dementia training, including:
- Dementia: an overview
- Communication and challenging behaviour in those with Dementia
- Nutrition and hydration issues in those with Dementia
- Continence and Dementia
- Person centred care and Dementia
This full day training course will be delivered by our Dementia Specialist, Stacy Tait, and is sure to be different from any generic Dementia training you have had before, as Stacy takes you on a journey with her Grandma, Elsie, who had Alzheimer's Disease.
Throughout this training, we look at the various different types of Dementia, how Dementia can lead to communication issues and possibly challenging behaviour, how Dementia can have an impact on nutrition and hydration, how everyone who has Dementia is unique, and 'one size fits all' care is both morally wrong and ineffective, and some continence issues in those who have Dementia.
We will also have a Dementia Support Service, supporting friends and families of those newly diagnosed in both the community and healthcare settings (Care homes and the NHS).
